The Target Downloads The Firmware from the PC.
The PC Uploads it to the target. That's funny, I'd say the exact opposite. To me, you "upload" to a more powerful, or larger, or central system. So if I were to use the term download in an embedded sense, the PC would always be "downloading" to the embedded system, and the embedded system would always be "uploading" to the PC. If the PC is receiving an upload from the embedded system, I'd say exactly that ("it is receiving an upload") or I'd just say that it was "receiving" from the embedded system. That's the way I've used (and heard used) the terms since the BBS days. That doesn't mean I'm right, but I'm certainly not changing! :) Regards, Craig Steiner 8052.com Webmaster |
