#124627 - Many ways Responding to: ???'s previous message |
As Andy mentions - we need to know more about the application. There is no reason why you cannot send modbus ascii or RTU over a radio link - being natively half duplex, this makes things a little easier. I've done it with Maxstream units on 900MHz. You could also do it using WiFi - especially if the master unit is a PC - you can use Modbus TCP/IP and Wifi units for the wireless link, then use a tcp/ip -> modbus converter like the Adam 4572 and Moxa have some units. All without having to touch a soldering iron or write software!
The beauty of going tcp/ip over ethernet is you have a choice of media - wireless, fibre optic, copper, internet. |
