I am not sure they followed Erik's recommendation (fire the webmaster)... I am now sure they did not. Today I received an e-mail from "Philips Semiconductors", noticing of the rename and asking me to subscribe to e-mail said: . OK, I can give it a try. I clicked on the link given in the e-mail (http://www.nxp.com/my/index.php). Ehm... this page I know, save the "new coloring", it's the old Philips login page... Of course I don't remember the password (and the browser's "remember" function does not work either, I guess this has to do with the different website name), so I chose the "remind me". Mail arrives within seconds with the password, and a link to follow... or not?My Semiconductors, the service that keeps you informed with email alerts on new products and technologies and eNews, our weekly newsletter tailored to your specific interests. Your subscription even gives you access to our product forums and technical support. password reminder said: (bold parts by my). OK, so we are still partially Philips, arent we? :-) However, the defunct link on the bottom... Well, at least a bit of shame... OK, I am an informed user, slightly, so I enter the password where it is supposed to go and... OK let's try the forum, that's the most interesting part anyway.
Password reminder
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your password for my.semiconductors.philips.com is: ******** The password is required to change/update your profile at http://www.nxp.comhttp://www....=subscribe Clicking a few times to get to the microcontrollers forum... new colors, but the URL is forums.semiconductors.philips.com, surprisingly, with the new icon (favicon.ico) next to it... OK, last time I tried it did not allow me to post - it said "log in" and when I logged in, it threw me back to the posts list and upon the subsequent attempt to post it said "log in" again - let's see if the fixed this... Yeah, trying to post requires me to "log in" again, so I log in... Yes, this is definitively new, an "Internal server error" page comes, but this time the URL is www.nxp.com, with the old Philips icon (favicon) next to it... It seems, that this webmaster took the chance to make a few changes now... :-( Jan Waclawek |
