#123472 - Linear Variable Displacement Transformer (LVDT) Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hello,
They are used on almost all electrical power plants worldwide to control the amount of super hot steam released into the turbine. The largest I ever saw was on a 820 megawatt Nuclear power plant located in Surry, Virginia. Use to work for Westinghouse Electric Company as Electrical Engineer. These things were beautiful in operation. Just the smallest input could controls huge amount of power. Truly tough as nails. Regards, Charles Bannister |
