I have noticed that, as of late, the "chat" forum is touching on topics that have the potential of exploding into very divisive threads. Politics, discussions about what region of religion discovered zero, etc. These are very interesting topics but I fear they have the potential to lead to very hard feelings if one of these threads gets out of hand. Remember that there are people here from just about every part of the world.

I'm not saying that these types of threads are banned, but I would like to ask that everyone take special care when deciding whether or not and how to reply to or post such messages. I for one am going to try avoid participating in such threads; very little good can come of them, but plenty of conflict most certainly can.

It'd be nice if we could focus here on that which brings us together rather than on those things that drive us apart. There are plenty of opportunities to be driven apart elsewhere.
