#120399 - more
Responding to: ???'s previous message
I had 'the pleasure' to investigate false resets on a board not of my design.

the supervisor (1232) was decoupled by 100nF through 2" or so traces.
microchip gave quite a few false resets (~25/1000 units/week)
LT gave a few false resets (~5/1000 units/week)
AD gave a few false resets (~2/1000 units/week)
DS gave a few false resets (~5/1000 units/week)
MAxim gave no false resets (~0/1000 units/week)

note, the numbers above (except microchip) are not based on a sample of 1000.

After soldering a 100nF capacitor directly across the chip all brands performed faultlessly.

Thus, you can decouple the super till the cows come home, but if you do not have the cap connected with VERY short traces, it does not help.
