I've got some motors that originated in 8" floppy drives and use four wires, but one of them is common to the 24V rail and the other three are darlingtons that pull each one down one at a time. Likewise, I have some five-wire motors that work in more or less the same way. It's not necessarily safe to make such assumptions, about steppers, based only on the number of wires. RE |
