#116487 - we had a grand meeting here FAQ? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I have a few hundred boards to be soldered with lead soldering before moving to lead free soldering. But one of the IC has arrived in Pb free. Can I solder that with lead soldering? or how should it be done.
We had a problem with delivery of a leaded component and the lead-free equivalent was in stock at the distributor. As a result we had a grand meeting here with experts and no one claimed that lead soldering of lead free components was any problem. However ALL stated that lead free soldering of leaded components was problematic, some stated it was a disaster. I post this not only as a response to Dileep, but as a general post since the "we can get lead-free, but not the leaded variant" will pop up more and more often. Erik |
