I don't remember the last time this was brought up, but I'd say if we're discussing 8051 assembly language source code, it's a valid discussion. If it were source code that's not compatible with the 8051, it'd be off-topic. This thread is kind of vague as to whether or not it's off-topic because there has been no source code shared. So we're looking at an interesting project that might be 8051-based, even if it's being executed on a strange choice of processor.

My thought is that a DOS program is a DOS program even if you run it in a Windows shell. An 8051 program is an 8051 program even if you run it on something other than an 8051.

In either case, the thread has since been moved to the "Chat forum" which means it really doesn't matter if it's on-topic or not.
