I don't remember the last time this was brought up, but I'd say if we're discussing 8051 assembly language source code, it's a valid discussion. If it were source code that's not compatible with the 8051, it'd be off-topic. This thread is kind of vague as to whether or not it's off-topic because there has been no source code shared. So we're looking at an interesting project that might be 8051-based, even if it's being executed on a strange choice of processor. My thought is that a DOS program is a DOS program even if you run it in a Windows shell. An 8051 program is an 8051 program even if you run it on something other than an 8051.
