High voltage DC distribution is being considered again, because it can be more efficient than AC distribution. It's all down to the available technology, which has come on a long way since Edison and Tesla.
After having worked on a relay arcing problem recently, I'm now 100% clear on why relays have higher AC contact rating compared to their DC contact ratings. |
