In a previous post http://www.8052.com/forum/read/186079 I was thinking of making a frequency multiplier with a micro controller.
Microchip came to the rescue, They made the PIC16f1509 and others that have built in NCO and CLC (some sort of programmable logic)and a CWG.
Looks interesting.
