Excellent news. I modified the pre-existing code I had to use timer 2 instead of timer 1 as the BRG. I then preloaded RCAP2H and RCAP2L with 0xFF and 0xF8 respectively and low and behold it works with MIDI.
MIDI is in fact the only serial protocol I work with. Good to know that timer 2 can be used as a BRG and it works in 16 bit auto-reload as I tend to stock mainly 8 and 16MHz crystals for my PIC uC stuff. |
