... those Atmel sample parts?

Like many others, i have been waiting for my interest in the AT89LP6440 to be tested against use of an actual
part.

Atmel is effective in training one not to get too excited, too quickly with "promise to part" alternating between fast and never. An example being the AT89LP216, i can '214's, but the '216 has never reared it's head.

The point of this is that as i was able to order 10 parts commercially from Avnet, where as you reported just better than a month ago you were told (effectively) "not to hold your breath" regarding sample availabity.
