#182862 - Don't just beleive everything you see on the interweb! Responding to: ???'s previous message |

I have read on the internet that the PDU format is more commonly implemented Says who? And, more importantly, when did they say that? Although some early modems/modules may have been PDU only, I think that's pretty rare today. Many (most?) modules these days are embedding a TCP/IP stack - so they're hardly going to be quibbling with scimping on the SMS text mode, are they?! Would I be better off going to text mode on the modem? I would. I personally can't see how, as I still need to read all the messages in first. but I maybe able to process the text on the fly rather than having to buffer it and then decode it. Sounds like you're really making a rod for your own back here! Why not just use a micro with plenty of RAM first - then think about whether it's even worth optimising it once you've actually got it working?! |
