The cables that Andy has repeatedly linked and shown pictures of work great. I have deployed 100s of these cables in various usage scenarios.
I can comment however if you are trying to make a pretty nicely buttoned up product it may be better to embed the FT232R chip (the equivalent of these cables) right onto the product circuit board. This way the product can be shipped with an off the shelf bog standard USB cable that the user can easily replace if it gets lost or is too long/short. Michael Karas |
