Compilers usually assume the user won't fiddle with the "internal" resources of the core. Now with '51 there is no sharp line between "internal" and "for application use" registers, as all are thrown into a common pool (the SFR area); nevertheless A, B, SP, DPTR and PSW together with the register area are usually considered "taboo".
