...crossbar will not automatically allocate anything. You need to configure crossbar to allocate different blocks to different pins. This configuration will not be controlled by what you attach to the pins externally.
P1MDIN is to decide the analog / digital input functions for Port 1 when they are configured for inputs. For e.g. you configure P1.0 as input pin and clear P1MDIN bit 0 then it is used as analog input while if you set P1MDIN bit 0 then it is used as digital input. P1MDIN is only for port 1 because only port 1 has analog inputs multiplexed on its pins. There is an example given in datasheet 18.1.7 on page 243. |
