A new member of the Atmel AT89LP single-clocker family, AT89LP52, appeared on Atmel's webpages.
Designed as a drop-in for the "classic" '52, it comes in DIP40/PLCC44/TQFP44 packages, features, and also a fusable compatibility mode (falling back to 12-clock mode). The "extras", besides being 1-clocker, include IAP-able FLASH, an extra 256-byte data FLASH, internal RC oscillator, POR/BOD which finally appears to have a real specification, and more.
