#178307 - 16 weeks Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Most fab lines are scheduled on a 16 week rotation. What that means is that any specific chip is made in a batch once every 16 weeks. If the forecast was wrong, the batch runs out and the manufacturer's stock drops to zero. The supply chain then instantly put the delivery date up to 16 weeks because they know that is the worst case delay. The next batch will probably be made earlier, but nobody outside the fab knows when. |
