i was just thinking. is it possible that the firmware was corrupting itself when it was executed outside a device before connecting to FLIP? i switched on the controller outside the device just connecting an oscillator reset, psen, ea plus rxd and txd just bare minimum for the flip to be able to work with the chip. is it possible that the program inside at89c51rc2 when first switched on on reset (before going in to boot loader mode) corrupted flash memory? so the straight forward question is: is it possible to have self modifying code in the low address flash memory space? (0x0 - 0x7fff)
