#175315 - Baud rate errors Responding to: ???'s previous message |

I also saw at the keil Baudrate calculator that at this frequency i will get an error of -0,18% for 9600. The Keil baud rate calculator also says: For best results, choose baud rates that are accurate to +/-1% or better. -0.18% is, clearly, a good deal better than +/-1% - so you are fine! Can't use anything of a higher frequency without sacrificing the accuracy ? As far as the baud rate generator is concerned, it's not how high the frequency is that's at issue - it's whether that particular number can be divided by the available dividers to give a suitably accurate baud rate! The limit on the maximum frequency is to do with the operation of the silicon itself - it has nothing specifically to do with baud rates. |
