#174374 - Seperate display processor Responding to: ???'s previous message |

I have just seen a demo of this: http://www.synlinktec.com/
It's a graphical display/HMI with processor that communicates with the microcontroller over a simple UART command link Yes, it is a totally raw display. No fonts, nothing. The idea of pre-storing parts of the display is attractive, it will certainly speed up the display functions. It will require a lot of flash memory to store all those pics, more than internal in the processors. External flash memory will be needed. It appears on balance that a seperate display processor is definitely the way to go. Exactly how is still unclear, but a serial link is a possibility with pre-loaded pics if sufficient flash memory is provided. Thanks to all who replied. It is appreciated. Johan Smit |
