#174373 - Capture/Sort/Search
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Girish:

If you make a simple change to the URL used to access the COMSOL list you can get the web site to display the table at a 100 lines per screen. Use the URL like this for the first page:

http://www.computer-solutions.co.uk/query.asp...elrows=100

You can then highlite all the rows in the table (I used Fire Fox for this) and copy the 100 rows to the Windows clipboard. It is then possible to paste the 100 rows into a text editor (I used CodeWrite). Repeat this process a total of eleven times to capture all the data and finally save to a .TXT file. Note that when copying each row of data the adjacent fields get separated by TAB characters. Finally open the .TXT file in Excel and let the import wizard help you get the data sucked in from the TAB delimited file. After some column width and alignment adjustments save the result as a spreadsheet file. The data is now very easily searchable and sortable!!

It took me all of about 10 minutes to capture all the data and make up a nicely formatted spreadsheet. I am sure that as long as the data in this captured format is used just for personal use that there should be no issues. There is no specific copyright displayed on the above linked table web page but I still would be reluctant to post the captured spreadsheet file here to this site. The COMSOL web site probably does have a general site wide copyright and usage notice someplace although I was unable to spot its location.
