#170933 - Thanks!!! Responding to: ???'s previous message |
You just did me a favor unknowingly... :) I had this LCD at my place lying for months & didnt know which phone's LCD it was or what controller it is. Now I did a quick searching on Nokia 1100 LCD & found it's it! Now I would do some programming fot it & might even replace 3310 LCD in future projects.
Coming to your query, Nokia 3310 LCDa are quite commonly available in Chandigarh sector 22, underground mobile market. I bought two of them at Rs. 100 each. One other shopkeeper offered me for Rs. 200 a piece! Anyhow, I'm convinced about Nokia 1100 LCD. I found this avrfreaks link, thought might be useful: http://www.avrfreaks.net/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=79964&postdays=0&postorder=asc Login there to see the pinouts etc. Siddharth Das said:
the Nokia 1100,does it use the same LCD as 3310? 3310 & 1100 dont use the same controllers. 3310 uses PCD8544 & 1100 uses PCF8814. 3310 LCD is 48*84 while 1100 is 65*96. Interfacing wise, you'd find PCD8544 easier to interface (i.e less confusing!) PCF8814 has got Selectable 3-line or 4-line serial interfaces, 6.5 MHz and High-speed I2C-bus while PCD8544 keeps it simple with only serial interface. etc. etc. etc. Siddharth Das said:
coz i can get my hands on this one more easily than that of 3310. :) why is that? are you talking of ease in interfacing or availability? |
