#170742 - where will that leave Maninder ?
Responding to: ???'s previous message

You say he should not worry about DCBs

At this level, he should be able to find something that "hides" that level of detail; eg, the well-known VB MSComm Control, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...S.60).aspx

Or: http://www.activexperts.com/activcomport/howto/vc/

Or: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...7y41k.aspx

Or: http://sourceforge.net/projects/tpapro/

etc, etc,...

and he should not use a USB to UART Bridge.

No, I didn't say that at all!

What I said was that the "standard" way to use a USB-to-UART Bridge is as a "Virtual" COM port - so, as far as the PC programming is concerned it is no different to programming a "real" COM port.

So where will that leave Maninder if he takes your advise?

I suspect that it will make no difference to Maninder whatsoever, as he doesn't actually seem to have any interest in this at all!

:-(
