#170384 - UART Communication Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Selwyn,
First you should heed Andy's advice. Read the information in the FAQs. Now concerning your question, I will assume that you are running a Windows operating system. In that case I will suggest that you use Hyperterminal, but just to get things running. It will allow you to at least see that your µController is communicating. It will be even better if you can watch the communication on an oscillascope at the same time. If you can, look and see if you can determine why the autobaud protocol sends an upper case "U" as the initial character. Once you get your system running you will not want to continue using Hyperterminal. My choice for programming my µControllers is FLIP. I'll leave it to others to tell you why Hyperterminal is a poor choice, or you can try and use it for more and learn from experience. Good luck, Joe |
