Electrolytic capacitors are available for high capacitances. 30pf is a tiny capacitance.
But have you made sure that you have extremely short leads to the crystal? A breadboard is not well-suited for high frequencies. And oscillator designs are extra critical since you don't have full logic-level swing and normally quite high impedance. The crystal and the capacitors should be flush towards the processor. |
