It's not recommended at all to use a self built programmer! Only use the original "ATMEL's ISP programming cable"! It contains a 74VHC244 chip which allows a proper power-up and power-down, without risking the flash code memory getting corrupted.
Also, I guess your programmer does not show series termination of ISP-lines, which makes your programmer behaving erratic when incidentally touching the cable during programming? Try the "Initialize Target" command to provide a rescue from your strange condition. Kai |
