#166713 - USB-DB25 converters are not reliable Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Atleast my experience says that USB-DB25 converters are not reliable usually... Can someone comment on the reliability of the USB-serial converters? I have no idea myself.

You can then use USB to serial converter for your laptop.
I think that new laptops do not have either DB25 or serial port. I have faced the same problem many a times with my IBM R51 laptop despite having a parallel port in it. I use ikalogic's DB25 programmer, which doesnt work reliably until you switch off the power supply of laptop! It's noise problem I think. I would recommend to buy an inexpensive USB programmer instead of spending on converters & still getting unreliable results. see: http://shop.extremeelectronics.co.in/product_i...pAodyU5QAg |
