#165852 - Frequent resets - how bad ??
I have a P89vRD2 running an endurance cycle : Switch on a solenoid for 200ms and Off for 300ms. It basically is a 2 Hz cycling. No issues here and already it has crossed a 100,000 cycles.

But once every 2 minutes a cooler motor ( 4kW) switches on and switches off after 90sec. And when it switches off, the MCU resets and starts cycling fresh. Since the endurance cycle count is done by a dedicated counter I dont loose counts.

But, I am worried if the frequent resets are 'good' for the MCU ? I have a diode across the motor contactor coil ; the motor terminals have a good snubber across the terminals.

Of course I am trying to figure out where the reset pulse is originating. In the meanwhile I just wanted to know if due to the frequent resets the MCU will give up the ghost ??

Thanks

Raghu
