The original poster did neither mention a printer model, or even if it was a Centronix printer or a printer with RS232 or any other interface.
Skipping any control codes, the code to use a Centronix or RS232 interface is quite straight-forward. Another thing the OP did not mention was if the intention was not print text (normally automatically produced by the printer, with the exception of some printers who only have graphical output) or if the intention was to emit graphics. Graphics output obviously requires more knowledge about the printer. |
