#165118 - Help a noob
Hey guys... I have this project to deliver at University on this 25th, and I am desperate because I have tons of doubts...
First of... My project... Build a 16 x 16 LED matrix wich will produce some pictures from PC...
I intend to use a 8051 or 8052 with flash memory so I can build hex file in pc and just send it to the 805X, and I don't know wich model i should use, atmel or whatever...
First doubt, how should i transfer the hex file, through LPT or Serial port??? I believe it's Serial, am I wrong?
Second, I was think that I should address 1 led at a time, with 6 demuxs (3-8) i use only one port light any led. But I've been told that it would be better if i downloaded the frames into some ram and then run column by column with 2 ports. Wich is best?
Third i don't know what components at all i'll need to complete this, I'm sure ill need 805x, and the leds, what more do i need?
So you can know, I'm a desktop programmer and i don't have knowledge about microcontrollers...
thanks for your time and help :D
