#164578 - How to handle error messages

the software doesnt recognize and says that "The device signature didnt match"

The key to handling error messages is to read them literally, and think about what the words are actually telling you.

The first question you need to ask yourself is: what software, exactly, is giving this message?

Having identified the particular software that is giving the message, you should then consult its documentation for help regarding the message. In particular, what is the "device signature", and how is it expected to "match"?

It is telling you that the "device signature didnt match" - so you need to think about what could possibly cause that; eg,
  • You have configured the wrong "device signature"
  • This particular device is not supported (so its "signature" can never match anything that is supported)
  • A fault in your hardware is causing the match to fail; eg, because your hardware doesn't send the "device signature", or corrupted it
