The baud rate simply affects the timing of the bits on the UARTs pins - you also need to ensure that the rest of your system is fast enough to cope with data arriving at this rate!
At a minimum, you need to guarantee that your software can read a byte from SBUF before the next one arrives; otherwise the previous byte will be overwritten - and lost! This is where having a 6/4/2/1 clocker could make a difference... |
