Typically a beginner is tempted to do everything in the ISR, which may work if not many tasks are to be handled. A RTOS will do it in the correct way, keeping ISRs code small among other things. Most standard progamming language books will not cover these concepts and they will then be learnt the hard way, trying to figure why the system misbehaves ocassionally. These concepts are understood better by studying a RTOS. |
