32KB SRAM (and more !?!) The biggest on-chip RAM was 40K; Being an 8051 it can, of course, do 64K with no problem. The external address bus is 32 bits - so you can easily connect vast amounts of external memory, and the built-in "mapping" logic makes the 8051 banked access to it realtively easy... Only we could have problem with only one SIO Absolutely no problem at all - you can easily implement many, many SIOs in the programmable logic! I worked on projects with 3 and 4 UARTS - that's the 8032's "internal" UART plus 2 or 3 extras in the programmable logic. What is your experience with the Zylogic development tools and SW debugging ? I haven't used it since Xilinx killed Triscend (and Zylogic picked up the pieces). Therefore I have no idea what Zylogic are like for support. But it doesn't look promising: their website (the English part, at least) seems to be basically just a "dump" from the old Triscend site, and is is virtually unchanged since then - and still seems to have many missing pieces that they omitted to transfer. What about the future of Zylogic ZE5 A very good question! it doesn't look hopeful from where I'm sitting - which is why I asked if they're even still in business! |
