#160736 - Searching for the RIGHT 8051
Hello Craig and *,

I am developing a "24V DC modular ATX PSU" which is generaly to power computers using Photo-Voltaik systems...

OK, the PSU is generaly a striped down UPS, but however, I am searchin for the RIGTHT 8051 Microcontroller which lead to a nightmare... because they are millions....

Plus ARM7TDMI, PIC32 and and and...

OK, I am already using the Maxim DS80C4xx (Network Microcontroller) and DS89C450 (High-Speed Microcontroller) but what I need is an USB port...

While a DS89C450 plus MAX3420 (SPI->USB controller) plus MAX1038 (12ch ADC) is expensive, but the microchips are highly reliabel, a PIC32 cost 25% of it, but has NO history...

Using an Atmel AT91SAM7S would be nice but it wan't work in an environement of 70°C and more...

So, what I need is a 8051 which must have:

1) USB -> USBHID-PDU
2) 6 ADC (conencted to the MAX9937->current sense)
3) I²C

The PSU is then connected to an internal USB port on the Computer Mainboard and used like a UPS controll programm (->NUT -> Network UPS Tools)

Also I need source examples HOW to implement the USBHID-PDU stuff...

Many things but I have studied for more then 15 years at the french army and no industrial experience and now have to learn from scratch again...

Greetings
Michelle
from Strasbourg
