Thanks a pile,Erik.
two power supply regulators
WHY???

One for the schreeching audio other for the noisy multiplexer.May appear sheer madness but that is my style of dividing the whole problem for tha time being. Is it not better to have the two in the developement stage because finally it will be easier to eliminate one?; if .... well a lot of considerations comes to mind.
Can you suggest any link for multi microcontroller projects?
no, but what is the problem, it is (to me at least) dead simple.

Problem is to use a, say, reset supervisor.Reset supervisor is to me an unknown enimy.Never had reset problem expect when I began 8051.For about a month I was mad. Then I learnt how to use RC reset.Because, off my continuous duty projects, the fridge controller has never failed for last 3 years in spite of exteremely poor mains power qualitity but tranformerless projects do very occasionally hang but that too in a very ugly mains power resumption. That when power fails in a peculiar way the local technitians call "series fault" when mains voltage becomes of the order of 15 vac so that transformerless LEDs are dimly lit.May be overhead cable fault and/or leakeges in fuse holder...However when power resumes from such low brownouts(?) cheap transformerless 8051 with RC reset may hang. The preset one will hsve transformer.I would love to use reset supervisor if cheap and available in very small quantity locally.
The ONE thing that will make life with multiple processors VERY difficult is not having a common reset supervisor

So you recommend reset supervisor only for multiple processors? That is why I wired a 317 for audio side so that it can be controlled. No it did not work.So I have a straight 317.
Erik, how many minimum tactile switches do you recommend for such alarm clock?
With best regards
