Austin, TX - Cygnal Integrated Products, a designer and manufacturer of in-system, programmable, mixed-signal SoCs, received an important industry accolade at the Sensors Expo Fall 2001 trade show in Philadelphia. The editors of Sensors magazine selected the dust-speck sized C8051F300 Mixed Signal 8KB ISP Flash MCU for the Best in Show award in the Sensors Components category, recognizing new products that will significantly impact the use of sensing in designs and applications.
The C8051F300 integrates analog and digital peripherals allowing "smart control" of sensors. It provides an off-the-shelf solution that would previously have required an application-specific integrated circuit, and is expected to shorten design cycles. In all, 12 winners were recognized in five categories, but Cygnal were the only company to win an award in their category.
"This Award underlines the contribution that the C8051F300 can make to designers faced with the challenge of adding smart sensor functionality in space constrained products" said Don Alfano, VP of Marketing at Cygnal Integrated Products.
The winners were chosen from 39 nominations and corresponded to these areas: Sensors; Data Acquisition Products; Communications and Networking; Control Products; and Sensor Components.
